Oracle 10g Performance and Tuning Features

This technical presentation will introduce you to several critical performance and tuning features in Oracle 10g. You'll learn about the Automatic Workload Repository and advisors such as Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor and the SQL Tuning Advisor. You’ll see how Enterprise Manager can be used to access the AWR and advisors. Demonstrations will reveal when the advisors accurately determine root cause and produce findings and recommendations and situations when they do not.

has more than 25 years of hands-on experience in the I.T. industry. His last 11 years have been spent working with Oracle - as a programmer and administrator. Dave speaks regularly at Oracle conferences including IOUG, NYOUG, CTOUG, VOUG, NOUG and SEOUC (where he won "Best of Conference" for his RMAN presentation). In 1992 Dave founded and is still employed by SkillBuilders, an Oracle Partner specializing in Oracle sales, training and consulting.
